I’ve realized that finding Basic resources to learn Hacking is the hardest thing ever, being a beginner I found out a way to learn Basics which I’ve mentioned in my previous stories and as a part of that journey Tryhackme and Hackthebox academy plays a major role.

Okay lest explore tryhackme (my favourite site) first, it’s really a beginner friendly site to start with once you’ve signed in tryhackme itself suggest you some rooms like:
Go through this rooms which will teach you Basics and then after all of these you’ll see “Learn” Section at top of the site at Learn Page you’ll see Learning Paths , Modules , Networks.
But for Now our Focus is only on Learning Paths and Modules. Start with Complete Beginner Learning Path and complete Rooms one by one, some of the rooms require subscription if you have great else there are writeups and videos on YouTube go through that for that room.
Be Careful when you are learning Linux rooms there are different Linux rooms in both Learning Path and Modules…

Now the Time for Hackthebox Academy (aka) HTB… according to my thoughts HTB is slightly Harder to understand for beginners when compared to Tryhackme.
Both Tryhackme and HTB has some similar modules (rooms) like Linux, Networking, Web Fundamentals… so learn Topics that are similar like this in both at the same time (Eg. HTB has a module called “Linux fundamentals” and Tryhackme also has 3 rooms in the names of “Linux fundamentals 1”,“Linux fundamentals 2”,“Linux fundamentals 3”. so if you learn Linux in both sites same time the it’ll be easily understandable and you wont forget it!).
After Signing Up into HTB on left side you’ll see Modules navigate to Modules>All Modules and select Fundamentals, Tier 0 to list Beginner Modules In Order…
Another Main thing in HTB is at the beginning itself you’ll be provided with 40 cubes, if you have to learn a Tier 0 module for Every Tier 0(beginner) module you have to pay 10 cubes. and you’ll get those 10 cubes back when you complete the module successfully!
As you can see in the image it cost 10 cubes for each Tier 0 module. there are Three difficulties in Tire 0 : Fundamentals, Easy, Medium, Hard start with fundamentals and move to next Level.
After Completing all tier 0 modules you’ll face cubes shortage for other Tier Modules at that time the only possible way is to Buy cubes :(
